Brenda Hensley

Brenda Faye Thomas-Hensley, daughter of Ervil Kenneth and Juanita Thomas, was born on January 14, 1957 in Prairie Grove, Arkansas and passed from this life on May 13, 2021 in Sallisaw, Oklahoma at 64 years of age.

She was a loving mother, grandmother, sister, and devoted Christian. Brenda attended Westville Public Schools and worked various careers throughout her lifetime. She was quite the firecracker and enjoyed life to the fullest. Always full of laughter and fun. She might have even made you blush a time or two with a funny joke. Brenda enjoyed spending time with family and friends. Nothing was more important to her than those whom she loved. Especially her children. She loved singing lullabies and gospel hymns to all her great-grandchildren. She took great pride in them. Brenda was a strong woman who overcame many challenges life had put in front of her. She always said, “We just have to pray about it. God will take care of us.”

Brenda is preceded in death by her parents: Ervil Kenneth and Juanita Thomas, brother: Gary Wayne Thomas, granddaughter: Checotah Hensley, and nephew: Milan Wilkie.

She is survived by a loving family that includes her children: Misty Hensley of Westville, Oklahoma, and Miles Hensley of Sallisaw, Oklahoma. Grandchildren: Shadolynn and Danny Hankins of Westville, Oklahoma, Therin Hensley of Hugo, Oklahoma, and Noah Hensley of Westville, Oklahoma. Great-Grandchildren: Layla, Kilan, Braylyn and Benjamin. Sisters: Linda and husband Darrell Walters of Sallisaw, Oklahoma, Glenda Wilkie and husband Danny of Baron, Oklahoma and brother: Charles Thomas of Baron, Oklahoma.
