Ann Sigourney

May 17, 1939 — June 12, 2025

On June 12th at 6:15 PM, Ann Sigourney, age 86, was called home to be with the angels. Ann was born in Stevens Point, Wisconsin, at Saint Michael's Hospital on May 17th, 1939, to Cecil Wright and Velma Wright. Ann grew up in Hancock, Wisconsin, and graduated from high school in Plainfield, Wisconsin.

On May 16, 1959, she married Frank Sigourney and became a dedicated farm homemaker. She raised two huge gardens every summer. Ann canned or froze every edible vegetable or fruit, along with venison, beef, and chicken. She enjoyed playing cards and games on the big oak kitchen table with friends and family. In the winter, she loved bowling with her team in Hancock. She was exceptionally good at it, too. She was active in many organizations, such as the Hancock Citizens Group and the Ladies' American Legion Auxiliary. Ann was immensely proud to have received her 50-year membership pin from this group. Ann moved to Westville, Oklahoma, to be closer to her sister, Mary Bagby, and husband Jim, on June 12, 2012. She greatly enjoyed her nephews and their families, along with the many friends she made during her thirteen years of living where winters were warmer.

Ann was preceded in death by her mother, Velma Olson, and stepfather, Oscar Olson, who raised Ann from the age of nine, and whom she always called Dad. A beloved nephew, who spent many days and weekends on the farm, Kevin Sigourney, also preceded her, along with brother Thomas Wright and wife Beverly, and Richard Wright and wife Norma Lou. Three babies, a girl and two boys, went to heaven before being born.

Ann is survived by her brother, Cecil Bruce Wright (Linda) of Huntington Beach, California, and sister Mary Bagby (Jim) of Westville, Oklahoma. She leaves behind numerous nieces and nephews in Wisconsin who loved spending time on the farm, and her nephews Rob Bagby (Libbie) and Seth Bagby (Dani) and along with great nephews Brennan (Candice), Riggins, and great niece Grace Ann, who was named after her.

There will be a Celebration of Life service at the Westville Methodist Church at 2:00 PM on Saturday, June 21st. This will be followed by a final send-off in Wisconsin with family and friends in August. Cremains will be interred at the Pleasant Hill Cemetery in Coloma, Wisconsin.

The family would like to thank the Quail Ridge Living Center and ACG Hospice for their loving care and compassion in caring for our loved one. Also, thank you to Kylee Vaughan with Roberts Funeral Home for her help with the final arrangements.
