Charles Sasnett

March 12, 1944 — November 25, 2023

Charles Edward Sasnett, age 79 died Saturday November 25, 2023, at his home in Piney Community. He was born March 12, 1944, in Stilwell, Ok to Joseph Warren and Dolly Cordelia (Collins) Sasnett.

He married Deletta Jean Smith on February 25, 1966, in Stilwell, Ok. They were married for 57 years and built a beautiful home and family together.

Charles had many different occupations over the years, but his main job was truck driving and he always enjoyed sitting around with family and friends trading truck driving stories, and let me tell you, they had some good ones. He was also a self-taught mechanic, electrician, plumber and all around handyman. Anything that needed to be fixed, he would figure out how to do it. He enjoyed gardening and working in his yard. He always had the prettiest flowers growing. And he loved spending time with his family. Charles was the kind of person who would do whatever he could to help someone. He was very caring and giving. He would do without things for himself to make sure his family had what they needed, right up to the very end. He was loved by many and will be missed dearly.

He is survived by his wife Deletta of the home. Two children Stanley Sasnett and wife Rena of Stilwell, OK, Charletta Sasnett and partner David Campbell of Stilwell, OK. Five grandchildren Shawn Sasnett of Stilwell, OK, Scot Sasnett of Stilwell, OK, Karissa Luttrell and husband Dustin of Westville, OK, Shayelynn Lawmaster and husband Alex of Westville, OK, Kyle McCullough and wife Nicole Taylor of Stilwell, OK, and seven great grandchildren Kyler, Taylor and Huxley McCullough, Aurora and Freja Luttrell, Rustyn Sasnett and Kia Unruh (aka Macaroni). He is also survived by three sisters ElaMae Rich of Stilwell, OK, Dorothy Singleton of Sand Springs, OK, Hazel Hite of Prairie Grove, AR and brother Jimmy Joe Sasnett of Springdale, AR and many nieces and nephews.

He is preceded in death by his parents Warren and Delia Sasnett, sister Charity Eubanks and brother Jeff Sasnett.

Piney Community was his home for over 50 years, and he will be laid to rest there in the Piney cemetery on December 1, 2023.
