Christine Martin

Christine Martin, daughter of Roscoe and Beatrice (Edgmon) Keeter, was born on February 20, 1931 in the Whitmire Community of Adair County, Oklahoma and departed this life on Monday, September 4, 2017 in Fayetteville, Arkansas at 86 years of age.

1973 was a big year for her, she married her love, Johnny Martin, on September 18, 1973 in Miami, Oklahoma and graduated with a Master's Degree from NSU. Johnny and Christine were blessed with over 31 years together, raising their family, before his passing in 2005.

She attended the Whitmire Community Church for most of her life. Christine was a member of the Retired Teachers Association and the Adair County Home Extension. She worked part time at the Westville Library. Christine was an avid reader and read her Bible daily. Christine was the epitome of a "Lady". She loved traveling and shopping. Christine enjoyed gospel music. Her favorite soloist was Daniel O'Donnell. Christine was both mother and father to her four girls for over 55 years. She was a terrific cook, enjoying making donuts and chocolate gravy for her family and anyone else who happened along.

Christine had a unique sense of humor. She was very competitive at cards and board games. Her favorite was "Kings in the corner". As a family, Christine, Johnny and the girls enjoyed playing dominoes.

She was preceded in death by her husband: Johnny Martin, parents: Ross & Beatrice Keeter, an infant grandson, brother: Bobby Keeter, stepson: Jonny Lee Martin, son-in-law: Don Maples.

Christine is survived by a loving family that includes her children: Diana & Jack Johnson, Barb Maples, Joyce & David Lawrence, Debbie & Billy Teehee, grandchildren: Robert & Tabatha Taylor, Jason & Kaci Johnson, Chris & Madlyn Taylor, Shad Lawrence, Shantel Teehee, 9 great grandchildren, sister: Arlene & Danny Smith.

Many other relatives and friends also survive her.

Funeral services were held at 10 am on Thursday, September 7, 2017 at Roberts & Hart Chapel, Westville, Oklahoma with Bro. Darrell Lacie, Bro. Matt Wilson ~ Obit and Jeremy Kelley ~ Speaker officiating. Interment followed at Westville City Cemetery, Westville, Oklahoma.
