Darrell O. Chadwell

It is with heavy hearts that we annouce the passing of Darrell O. Chadwel, a cherished member of the Westville, Oklahoma community. He departed from this world on September 13, 2023, at the VA Hospital in Fayetteville, Arkansas. He was 77 years old.

Born on December 10, 1945, to Travis and Anna Chadwell. Darrell grew up in a loving home alongside his siblings. He was preceded in death by his parents and two brothers, Alfred and Quannah Chadwell. He is survived by his sisters, Vidella Ketcher and Calirace Mcfadin, and his brother Jimmie R. Chadwell.

Darrell's life was marked by his commitment to his country. A proud military veteran from the Vietnam war era, he served as an MP in the US Army with honor and distinction, exemplifying the virtues of courage and selflessness that define the finest of our nation's defenders.

His Chirtianity was one of deep faith and devotion. As a long-term member and deacon at Summers Missionary Baptist Church, in Summers, Arkansas. Darrell's faith was a beacon of light, inspiring those around him to seek solace and strength in the Lord Jesus Christ.

Darrell has a passion for baseball that was infectious. His enthusiasm for the sport was a testament to the joy and camaraderie that can be found on the field. Whether cheering on his favorite team or sharing stories of his own experiences, his love for the game was palpable.

Above all, Darrell was a beloved uncle to numerous nieces and nephews, each of whom held a special place in his heart. His wisdom, kindness, and support will forever be etched in their memories.

As we bid farewell to Darrell, we reflect on a life well-lived, a legacy of service, faith, and love. He leaves behind a community forever grateful for his presence and a family forever enriched by his love.
