Darryl Dean Mullin, the fourth child & second son of Gwen Franklin Mullin & Marjorie Pearl (Hamblin) Mullin, was born on Memorial Day, May 30, 1942 in Clearfork, Oklahoma, Adair County. He lived his entire life of 79 years in Clearfork. He started his cattle herd in his teens & continued until 2017. In 1972 he began the broiler poultry business & continued until December 2012. He did all parts of haying for his own cattle & hauled square bales for many farmers for most of his adult life. He introduced many young boys/men to real work & sweat on the back of the hay truck. He loved to work. Hard work never bothered him. He not only loved to work, but he loved to hunt deer, turkey, elk, moose, bighorn sheep & ducks.
On May 29, 1964 Darryl married Lois Ann Mallory at the little Clearfork Church. They have lived in his Grandpap Mullin’s house since the first year of their marriage. They welcomed three wonderful children: Angela, Daniel & Dallas.
Darryl was saved at the tender age of seven at Clearfork. Bro. Arthur Essary was the evangelist. He served the Lord faithfully his entire life. He was faithful to church as long as he was able to get there. January 12, 2021 was his last service. He loved church, God, & his family. He was a faithful son, husband, father, brother, uncle, grandpa, great grandpa, friend & neighbor.
He served as Sunday School Superintendent; Service Leader; Trustee; Deacon; and Christian School Worker. He did Jail Ministry for 17 years at Adair County Jail. He loved telling those men about a better life in Jesus Christ. He had a burden for their lost souls. Through the years many singers, preachers, missionaries, & others accompanied him for which he was very thankful.
