David Ross Wing, a resident of Westville, OK went home to be with the Lord on Nov 1, 2023, at the age of 71, after battling cancer for six years. He was born January 17, 1952, in Tulsa, Oklahoma and was raised by Seaph and Pearl Wing in Clear Creek, Oklahoma. David leaves behind his wife, Freda Wing, of 52 years, his son Gary and wife Daphne of Westville, three grandchildren; Maura, Serena, and Sam Augare. Five brothers; Gilbert Wing of Watts, Oklahoma, Bill Wing and wife Betsy of Lost City, Oklahoma, Donnie Guinn and wife Iva of Muskogee, Oklahoma, Bill Guinn and wife Sandra of Stilwell, Oklahoma, Randall Guinn and wife Becky of Prairie Grove, Arkansas, one sister; Vontreba Hudson of Westville, Oklahoma, two sister in laws; Mary Vaughn and husband Roger of Westville, Oklahoma, and Vera Puckett of Poteau, Oklahoma, and several nieces and nephews.
David was a private person, but was always willing to help friends and family any time he could. He raised cattle for several years. He loved his country, and he served in the U.S. army for eight years, which included two tours overseas. He loved coon hunting and in his earlier years, he was Master of Hounds for the United Kennel Club (UKC). He enjoyed fishing and he was always looking forward to his next fishing trip with family and friends. He loved traveling and enjoyed exploring museums as he visited new places. He was fond of history, and watching old westerns was one of his favorite pastimes.
A graveside service will be held on Friday, November 10th, at 11am at Westville Cemetery with Pastor Sharon Stockton officiating.
