Delois “Dee” Ann Shirk, a devoted wife, mother, sister, grandmother, and friend, passed away peacefully on November 30, 2025. She was born on November 1, 1944, to J.E. and Francis Jewel (Mathis) Northrip. Delois spent her early years in Heavner, Oklahoma, before moving with her family to Raymond, California, where she graduated from high school.
Delois married the love of her life, Carl Shirk, on October 16, 1971, in Las Vegas, Nevada. They built a life together based on hard work, determination, and shared goals. Delois later earned her bachelor’s degree in marketing from Northeastern State University, an achievement she cherished.
In 1991, Delois and Carl fulfilled one of their proudest ambitions when they founded Champion Mechanical Services. Through hard work and steadfast commitment, they grew the business side by side. After Carl’s passing on April 8, 2006, Delois continued to honor his memory and carry on their legacy with grace and determination.
Known for her love of sports and her enthusiastic support of her children and grandchildren, Delois found her greatest joy in her family. She treasured every moment spent with those she loved—including her loyal canine companions, Taco and Chupa, who rarely left her side.
Delois is survived by her sons, Steve Gaasch of Rogers, Arkansas, and Brian Gaasch and his wife, Charlene, of Watts, Oklahoma; her daughter, Elaine Snyder, and her husband, Cliff, of Watts, Oklahoma; her grandchildren, Cody, Nicole, Dillon, Justin, Chad, and Courtney; her great-grandchildren; and her beloved siblings: Elaine Thompson, Rena Pickering, Maria Delaney, Ima Matlock, Conley Matlock, Tom Matlock, and Raymond “Buzz” Matlock. She was preceded in death by her parents.
A woman remembered for her kindness, strength, and unwavering love, Delois leaves behind a legacy that will continue to inspire all who knew her.
