Fred Joe Kelley

It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of Fred Joe Kelley, age 80, of Stilwell, Oklahoma, who departed this life peacefully on February 26, 2025. Born on March 30, 1944, Fred was a beloved husband, father, grandfather, and friend, whose life was rich in love, creativity, and laughter.

Fred had a passion for writing music and poetry, painting, preaching, and cooking. His love language was food. He found immense joy in spending time with his family and dogs, especially his children and grandchildren, who were the cornerstones of his life. As a devoted member of the Cherokee Tribe, Fred held a deep appreciation for his heritage and the beauty of the Oklahoma landscape that surrounded him.

Fred was preceded in death by his loving parents, Joseph and Addie Kelley; his cherished wife, Patricia Sue Kelley; and his siblings, Jim Kelley, Treva Bradford, Mildred, Betty, and Bernice Kelley.

He is survived by his children; Kim Kelly, Leanne Tays, Tammy Potter, Stacie Andrews, and Bryon Kelley. He also leaves behind a loving legacy of grandchildren and great-grandchildren, all of whom will dearly miss his great sense of humor and warm spirit.

In this time of profound sorrow, we take comfort in knowing that Fred's joyful heart and creative spirit will forever be remembered by those whose lives he touched.
