Gary Fain

December 21, 1949 — July 31, 2023

Gary Ward Fain, 73 year old resident of Watts, Oklahoma, passed away peacefully, at home, on July 31, 2023.  He was born December 21, 1949 in Siloam Springs, Arkansas to Ward and Geraldine (Johnson) Fain.

 

Gary started his career in law enforcement in 1975-77 as Undersheriff for Adair County under Dan Abbott.  He then went to work for Oklahoma Scenic River Commission as a River Ranger.  His next career step was when he joined the Oklahoma Highway Patrol in 1978.  His first assignment was in Caddo County, Oklahoma.  He then served as Governor’s Security for George Nigh until the opportunity was offered  to transfer back to Adair County until retirement.  After retirement Gary enjoyed farming and owning and driving his semi-truck.

 

He is survived by his wife of 30 years, Diane Fain and special pet, Jasper; brother Tommy Fain and wife Jackie of Watts, OK; nephew Gerald Fain and wife Jene’ of Watts; step-sons:  Lundy Taylor and wife Cindy,  Dusty Taylor and wife ,Tonya of Stilwell, OK.  He is also survived by cousins Dennis Johnson and wife Sheila of Farmington, AR and Elizabeth Brimer and husband, Jeff of Okemah, OK 7 step grandchildren and 8 step great grandchildren, several nieces, nephews, cousins and a host of friends.

 

In lieu of flowers, you may make a donation to St. Judes Children’s Hospital.
