Gene Gatewood

Gene Gatewood was born on May 6, 1934, in Kenwood, Oklahoma to Charlie Benjamin Gatewood and Cora Ann Gann and departed this life on November 26, 2021, at the age of 87.

Gene enjoyed coon hunting, fishing, and traveling to Colorado. He was a loving father, husband, grandpa, great grandpa, and great-great grandpa. Gene ran a Sawmill for most of his life and had many different jobs in his lifetime. He will be missed greatly by all family and friends.

He was preceded in death by his parents; his wife of 41 years: Betty Sue (Phillips) Gatewood; his son: Rick Davidson; six brothers and one sister: Cecil, John, Jerry, Leroy, Tom, Jesse, and Florence.

Gene is survived by his daughter: Wilma Eberely and husband Jerold of Siloam Springs, Arkansas; 9 grandchildren; 22 great grandchildren; and 10 great-great grandchildren; his brother: Bill Gatewood and wife Sharon of Siloam Springs, Arkansas; 1 sister: Doris Sellers and husband Percey of Tahlequah, Oklahoma; and many nieces and nephews.

Funeral services were held at 10 am on Saturday, December 4, 2021 at Roberts & Hart Chapel, Westville, OK with Bro. Jim Beavers officiating.  Interment followed at 10 am on Monday, December 6, 2021 at Phillips Cemetery, Westville, OK.
