Jack Cook, son of Charles Edward and Eula Kathleen (Stover) Cook was born April 28, 1941 in Raleigh, WV, and departed this life with family by his side on September 25, 2015 in Springdale, AR, at the age of 74 years, 4 months and 28 days.
Jack spent his youth traveling and making lifelong friends all over the West. He was a true mountain man who loved Black Powder Shoots, performing historical reenactments, hunting, fishing, and playing chess and poker. He enjoyed making music with friends and played a mean gut-bucket. He was fun loving, enjoyed big family gatherings, and loved to tell a good story nearly as much as he loved to hear a good joke. He was an avid gunsmith, proud member of the NRA, and a diehard Democrat. He was an all-around ornery cuss and was every bit as stubborn as the mules he loved; he passed that trait on to every one of his kids. He attended and was baptized at Jubilee Baptist Church in Westville.
Jack was preceded in death by his first wife, Alice Jeppesen Cook; brother, "Pete" Cook; father, Charlie Cook; and long-time best friend, Jack Kidd.
He is survived by a very loving family that includes his 6 children: Joshua Cook and wife Jennifer James, and Rachel Black and husband Gary, all of Westville, OK; Hannah Buso and husband Jay of Barling, AR; Piper Cook, Valerie Cook Fletcher and husband Jeremy, all of Folsom, CA; and Levi Cook of Westville, OK; mother: Eula Kathleen Cook, 10 grandchildren: Jana, Jesse, Jamie, Tyler, Corban, Jasmine, Annalee, Bijou, Maecy, Camdyn, and 1 great-grandchild on the way; his longtime companion Lucinda Glass; 6 siblings: Mary Nubbie, Terry Cook, Robert Cook, Sherman Cook, Mike Cook, Sandra Haney, and brother-by-choice, Don Farris; as well as loving nieces, nephews, other relatives, and many friends.
Memorial services were held at 10 am on Thursday, October 1, 2015 at Westville Pentecostal Holiness Church, Westville, OK with Bro. Navil Vaughan officiating.
