Johnathan “Johnny” Gregory Blondell, age 37 of Tahlequah, Oklahoma, passed away Wednesday, February 11, 2026, at his home in Tahlequah.
Celebration of Life Services will be held at 10:00 a.m., Tuesday, February 17, 2026, at the Roberts & Hart Funeral Home in Westville, Oklahoma. Burial will follow in the Old Mission Baptist Cemetery.
Visitation hours will be held from 4:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m., Monday, February 16, 2026, with the family receiving friends from 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. at the Roberts & Hart Funeral Home in Westville, OK.
In lieu of flowers, Johnny requested that memorial donations be made to the Humane Society of Cherokee County. Donations may be made on their website or left at the Roberts & Hart Funeral Home.
Johnathan Gregory Blondell was born April 20, 1988, to Todd and Cathy (Hart) Blondell in Elyria, Ohio. He grew up in Georgia and graduated from the Henry County High School. Johnny loved playing piano, singing, tennis, and animals, especially his cats. He was known for his sarcasm and quick wit in any given situation. He worked as the Night Lead Custodian for Broken Arrow Public Schools.
In March 2020, Johnny met Lane Chandler in Stillwater, OK, and the two started dating shortly thereafter. They were engaged there on September 5, 2022, and married on October 14, 2023, in Wagoner, OK. The couple made their home in Tahlequah, OK.
Survivors include his husband, Lane, of the home; mother, Cathy Blondell, of McDonough, GA; father, Todd, and wife, Kim Blondell, of Macon, GA; mother- and father-in-law, Connie and Kevin Chandler, of the home; brothers David (Lisa) Blondell of McDonough, GA; Aaron (Richelle) Blondell of St. Augustine, FL; Corey Burke of Goose Creek, SC; and Cayton (Casey) Blondell of McAlester, OK; sisters Jill Halbach of Joplin, MO, and Darby Hathaway of Byron, GA; sisters-in-law Laci (Coy) Purscelley of Tahlequah, OK, and Brina (Hunter) Thomas of Tahlequah, OK; an uncle; and several aunts, nieces, and nephews.
Johnny was preceded in death by Nana (grandmother, Janis Sellers); grandfather, Alvin Hart; and brother, Kaston Hall.
