Johnathan Gregory Blondell, lovingly known as Johnny, was born on April 20, 1988, to Todd and Cathy (Hart) Blondell in Elyria, Ohio. He grew up in Georgia and graduated from Henry County High School.
Johnny was a man of many talents and passions. He loved playing the piano and singing, and he enjoyed playing tennis. He had a special place in his heart for animals, especially his beloved cats. Known for his sarcasm and quick wit, Johnny could lighten any situation with his humor and sharp sense of timing. His personality left a lasting impression on everyone who knew him.
Johnny was dedicated to his work as the Night Lead Custodian for Broken Arrow Public Schools, where he took pride in his responsibilities and the relationships he built along the way.
In March 2020, Johnny met the love of his life, Lane Chandler, in Stillwater, Oklahoma. The two began dating shortly thereafter and quickly built a life filled with love and laughter. They were engaged in Stillwater on September 5, 2022, and were united in marriage on October 14, 2023, in Wagoner, Oklahoma. Together they made their home in Tahlequah, Oklahoma, where they built a life rooted in devotion and partnership.
Johnny is survived by his loving husband, Lane, of the home; his mother, Cathy Blondell of McDonough, Georgia; his father, Todd Blondell and wife Kim of Macon, Georgia; his mother- and father-in-law, Connie and Kevin Chandler of the home; his brothers, David (Lisa) Blondell of McDonough, Georgia; Aaron (Richelle) Blondell of St. Augustine, Florida; Corey Burke of Goose Creek, South Carolina; and Cayton (Casey) Blondell of McAlester, Oklahoma; his sisters, Jill Halbach of Joplin, Missouri, and Darby Hathaway of Byron, Georgia; his sisters-in-law, Laci (Coy) Purscelley and Brina (Hunter) Thomas, both of Tahlequah, Oklahoma; one uncle; and numerous aunts, nieces, and nephews who will cherish his memory.
He was preceded in death by his grandmother, Janis Sellers; his grandfather, Alvin Hart; and his brother, Kaston Hall.
Though his life was far too short at just 37 years old, Johnny filled his years with love, laughter, music, and meaningful connections. He leaves behind a legacy of humor, loyalty, and deep devotion to those he loved most. His presence brought light to ordinary moments, and his absence will be deeply felt by all who had the privilege of knowing him. His memory will forever live on in the hearts of his family and friends.
In lieu of flowers, Johnny requested that memorial donations be made to the Humane Society of Cherokee County. Donations may be made on their website or left at the Roberts & Hart Funeral Home.
