Lonnie Combs

Lonnie Combs, a beloved husband, father, and grandfather, passed away on January 2, 2024, at the age of 89. Born at home on October 20, 1934, to Frank and Mamie Combs, in Crosses, Arkansas. Lonnie's life was filled with love, laughter, and a deep commitment to his family and community.

Lonnie's career began as a barber and spanned several decades. He owned and operated his own barber shop for many years in Siloam Springs, Arkansas. Alongside his work as a barber, Lonnie also contributed to the Oklahoma transportation department and served as county foreman in Muskogee County and later transferred to Adair County before finally retiring. It was through these roles that Lonnie left an indelible mark on the lives of those he encountered.

However, Lonnie's proudest accomplishment was undoubtedly his marriage to his beloved wife, Mary Combs. On January 9, 1981, Lonnie and Mary embarked on a journey together that spanned an incredible 43 years. Their union was filled with love and devotion that grew stronger with each passing day. Their unwavering bond was an inspiration to all who witnessed their deep connection.

Lonnie is preceded by his parents Frank and Mamie, 3 sisters, 1 brother, and 2 sons.

Lonnie is survived by Mary, his loyal and dedicated wife and constant companion for many years, and children; Deborah Jordan, Melvin Combs, Sharilyn Combs, Doreen Combs, Cheryl and husband John Ethridge. He is also survived by his 15 grandchildren and 27 great-grandchildren, who he absolutely adored and brought newfound joy and laughter to his later years. In addition to his children and grandchildren and great grandchildren, Lonnie is survived by a host of family and friends.

Lonnie Combs may have left this world, but the impact he made during his time here will never fade. He will forever be remembered as a loving husband, a devoted father, an adoring grandfather, and a loyal friend.
