Mary Roberts

Mary Lee Roberts daughter of William C. and Lula (Lattimore) Elliott was born June 29, 1931 in Minco, Oklahoma and departed this life surrounded by loved ones on March 14, 2015 in Fayetteville, Arkansas at the age of 83 years, 8 months and 14 days.

Mary Lee married the love of her life Troy Edward Roberts on August 23, 1952 and to this union 3 daughters were born; Mary Ann, Lee Ann and Troy Lynn. She was blessed with two children from prior marriages Nina Cheryl "Cheri" McLeod and James Troy Roberts.

Mary Lee owned and operated Mary Lee's Beauty Shop from 1952 to 1985. She also worked with Troy in their Nu Life Manufacturing fishing tackle business. She helped with packaging of tackle but loved being the salesman. All her customers became her friends. Mary Lee also wrote a newspaper column call "Stuff about Westville". She loved to draw, paint, write, fish, and go out to eat Chinese food. Mary Lee could find four leaf clovers without really trying and the chances of that are 1 in 10,000 but she was one in a million.

She was preceded in death by her parents; William and Lula Elliott, her husband; Troy Edward Roberts, 2 daughters; Cheri Cartwright and Lee Ann Self, 2 grandsons; Joshua and Caleb McAlister, siblings; William Elliott, J.T. Elliott, Frank Elliott, Charles Elliott, James Elliott, Vertie Belle Elliott, Ann Basore and Judy Brown.

Mary Lee is survived by a very loving family that includes her daughters; Mary Ann Stogsdill and husband Chris of Westville, OK, Troy Lynn McAlister and husband Larry of Prairie Grove, AR, son; James Troy Roberts of Fords, NJ. 8 grandchildren; numerous great grandchildren; siblings; Kathleen Lambert of Lawton, Faye Anderson and husband Bobby Ray, A.C. Elliott and wife Billie June all of Vian, OK, several nieces, nephews, other relatives and many friends also survive her.

In Lieu of flowers donations may be made to St. Jude or the Willard Walker Hospice House in Fayetteville, Arkansas in memory of Mary Lee Roberts.

Funeral services were held, Monday, March 16, 2015 at 10:00 a.m. with Bro. Darrell Self officiating. Interment followed in the Old Baptist Mission Cemetery under the direction of Roberts & Hart Funeral Home.
