Peggy Patricia (Pat) Nelson, 84 of Westville, OK departed this life on May 14, 2025 in Siloam Springs, AR.

Pat was born November 22, 1940 in Baron, OK to the late Charlie Albert and Florence (Goodwin) Bradford. She grew up in Baron, OK and attended school there, then graduated from Westville High School in Westville, OK in 1958.

Pat married Larry Lee Nelson in Columbus, OH on August 22, 1958, and to this union four children were born. She traveled extensively with Larry as he was in the Air Force. They lived for a time in McArthur, OH where Larry was born, then moved on August 22, 1975 to Westville, OK. She worked for Baldor Electric from October 1981 until retiring at age 80, in February 2021.

To many she was known as Pat or Patsy, but to many more she was “Nanny”. She took care of everyone and if you were in need, she was the first to be there. She was an avid gardener. Her yard, porches and house were overflowing with every kind of plant imaginable because she had an amazing green thumb. Pat taught many people how to keep and grow plants. She was a master quilter. She made her children’s clothes when they were young, then turned her focus to quilting. The quilts she made were amazing whether it was intricate patterns or just a simple nine-patch. We loved her more than she will ever know and we are forever grateful for the time we had with her.

Pat was preceded in death by her parents Charlie and Florence, her husband Larry in 2000, granddaughter Olivia Andrea in 1992, brothers; RL Bradford, Jess Bradford, Donald Bradford, A.G. Bradford, Chester Bradford, Lester Bradford, Charles Bradford, Mac Bradford and Johnnie Bradford; sisters Kathleen Kinnan, Leora Imboden, Rowena Bradford, Lydia Mae Bradford, Emma Lee Tumio, Jenny Coughran and Pauline Miller.

She is survived by her four children: Rick Nelson and wife Lenora of Inverness, FL, Randy Nelson and wife Margie of Stuttgart, Germany, Tami Haeberle and husband John of Westville, OK, and Rusty Nelson and wife Sue of Westville, OK, 13 grandchildren, 15 great-grandchildren, and brother Wayne Bradford and wife Barbara of Westville, OK.

Her family and friends will hold a Funeral Service in her honor at Faith Holiness Church in Oklahoma on May 23, 2025. The service will begin at 1:00 PM, with a gathering of loved ones to celebrate her remarkable life and the memories they shared. Burial will follow her Funeral Service at Westville City Cemetery.
