Retha Mae (Brown) Faddis passed away peacefully on April 2, 2023, at the age of 82 years, 3 months, and 13 days, at her home in Stilwell, OK. She was born to John R. Brown and Nettie (Beanstick) Brown, on December 20, 1940. She was united in marriage to Wayne Leslie Faddis on June 8, 1957, in Stilwell, OK. They made their home in the Piney Community and were blessed with three sons: Kenneth, Robert, and Jerry.
Retha attended Stilwell High School and later went on to Graduate from Northeastern State University in 1978 with a bachelor's degree in education. She began her career in the classroom working with special needs children, which held a special place in her heart and finished her career in administration as Special Services Director. She was loved and respected by both her students and her colleagues. She retired in 2004 to spend time with her family which she dearly loved. She enjoyed spending her days with her grandchildren and great-grandchildren. She also showed her love of children by spending endless hours making sock monkeys and crocheting well over 100 baby blankets to welcome newborns of family and friends.
She was preceded in death by her husband Wayne Faddis, her parents, one sister Wanda McCully and one grandson Anthony Wayne Faddis.
Those left to cherish her memory are her three sons; Kenneth and wife Nedra of Fort Gibson, Robert, and wife Carol of Westville, Jerry and wife Jolene of Stilwell. Five grandchildren; Clint Faddis of Twin Oaks, Daniel Faddis, Hayden Faddis both of Stilwell, Jessie Howell of Ada and Casey Kester of Stilwell. Ten great-grandchildren; McKenna Howell, Corbin Howell, Autumn Faddis, Kenneth Faddis, Trenton Faddis, Whitley Kester, Coleman Kester, Wiley Kester, Clarissa Faddis, and John Ray Faddis. She is survived by her brothers: H.D. Brown and Rick Brown; and sisters: Sue Ann Smallen and Francis Longshore, all of Stilwell; and a host of nieces, nephews, and other loved ones. She leaves behind numerous friends and family all left to cherish her memories, her beautiful warm smile and her sweet spirit.
