Sidney was a devoted Christian, engineer, inventor, aviation enthusiast, and family man whose work helped shape advances in aerospace materials and military aviation over a career spanning decades.
A graduate of Kent State High School and The Ohio State University with a degree in chemical engineering, he pioneered the development of epoxy, fiberglass, and carbon-fiber composite technologies that became foundational in numerous aircraft and defense applications. Throughout his career, Sidney contributed to projects ranging from the F-16 and Harrier aircraft programs to the B-2 Spirit stealth bomber. His innovative work earned numerous professional honors and left a lasting impact on the aerospace industry.
Beyond his professional accomplishments, Sidney was known for his love of chemistry, automobiles, airplanes, and lifelong learning. He remained deeply grounded in his faith and was grateful for the many friendships he cultivated throughout his life. We are grateful that family and friends are able to join us, whether in person or through this livestream, as we remember Sidney’s life, accomplishments, faith, and the legacy he leaves behind.
