Velma June Deason passed away on her 89th birthday, May 28, 2024. She was born in Stilwell, Oklahoma, on May 28, 1935, to her loving parents Les and Grace Faddis.
Velma's life was marked by her unwavering commitment to serving others. For over 40 years, she drove a school bus for the Broken Arrow School District, touching the lives of countless children with her caring nature and warm smile. In addition to her career as a school bus driver, Velma also found fulfillment in her role as an ordained minister, spreading love and compassion to all those she encountered and would also graduate from Rhema Bible School.
Velma June Deason was known for her deep love for her family. She was a devoted mother to her children David Deason, John Deason, Terri Morgan, and her late daughter Tammi Mullin. Velma cherished her role as a grandmother and great-grandmother, finding joy in every moment spent with her family.
In their earlier years, Velma and her husband enjoyed traveling together whenever they could. These adventures created cherished memories that Velma held dear throughout her life.
Velma is survived by her children David Deason, John Deason, Terri Morgan, her sisters Helen Chadwell of Prairie Grove, Arkansas and Bonnie Childs of Owasso, Oklahoma; brother Dale Faddis of Shawnee, Kansas; along with a host of grandchildren, great-grandchildren, great-great-grandchildren, nieces, nephews, and friends who will carry on her legacy of love and kindness.
She is preceded in death by her husband Dee Deason, her parents Les and Grace Faddis; daughter Tammi Mullin; and brothers Wayne Faddis and Melvin Faddis.
Velma's presence in the lives of those who knew her will be deeply missed but her spirit will live on in the memories and hearts of all who were touched by her unconditional love and grace. May she rest in eternal peace.
