William Bettes

William Bettes, a beloved husband, father, brother, and grandfather, born on May 4, 1944, to Lee and Dortha Bettes, passed away on May 18, 2024.

William wore many hats in his career, ranging from a heavy equipment mechanic to welder, and working on roads and bridges.

Beyond his professional achievements, William had a special fondness for yellow roses, boston terrier pups, and cherished moments spent watching wildlife while feeding hummingbirds and chipmunks from the comfort of his porch. William also had a passion for race cars and driving fast himself.

William is preceded in death by his parents Lee and Dortha Bettes, brother Troy Bettes, and grandchild Jessie Luttrell.
 
Those left to cherish his memory are his children; Michael Bettes and wife Tracy, Michelle Luttrell and husband Ronnie, Melissa Jones and husband Bruce, Melanie Bettes, William Bettes, Alison Meeker and husband Joey, as well as siblings Wilma and husband Ron Proberts, Virginia and husband Don Cooper, Jerry Bettes and wife Pam, Ronnie Bettes and wife Rhonda, Lonnie Bettes and wife Joyce, and a host of grandchildren, great-grandchildren, relatives and friends.
 
William Bettes will be remembered for his strong work ethic, passion for life's simple pleasures, and dedication to his family. He leaves behind a cherished legacy that will continue to inspire all those who were fortunate enough to have known him.
