Danny Atchison

Danny Dale Atchison went home to be with his Lord at 4:00 am on Sunday morning, January 14, 2018 at the age of 63 years, 11 months and 1 day. He had struggled with cancer since August 2017 and during this time, he professed several times that he knew the Lord as his Savior.

Danny was born on February 13, 1954 to William L. Atchison and Ima Jean (Gann) Atchison in San Bernardino, California. Danny and his older brother, Eddy, were quite a pair according to his parents! When he was a teenager his family moved to Oklahoma, where another brother, Billy, was born.

Danny was a U.S. Army Veteran. He served as Mayor of Westville, Oklahoma for a time. Danny loved his occupation as a truck driver. He drove for several different people throughout the years and made many friends. He also loved deer hunting.

He was preceded in death by his paternal grandparents: Edgar Atchison and Eula (Gibson) Gann, maternal grandparents: Riley and Leola (Hastings) Gann, uncles: R.D. Gann, "Chuck" Atchison and Jack Stout.

Danny is survived by his parents: William "Bill" and Ima Jean Atchison of Westville, OK, sons: Daniel and wife Tina Atchison and Nicholas Atchison, all of Westville, OK, his four grandchildren of whom he was very proud: Colton, Brooklyn, Kynzie and Brayden Atchison of Westville, brothers: Eddy L. Atchison and wife Gloria, Billy Atchison and wife Tara, all of Stilwell, OK, aunts: Frances Gann, Vicki Moorehouse, Irene Stout, Wilma Oxley and husband Johnny, uncle: Jim Atchison, his longtime companion: Vickie Darlene Pathkiller and her family: Jimmy Pathkiller, his wife Jamie and their children: Gaven, Rylee and Jace Pathkiller, Ethan and Kaitlynn Craig, his nephews: Dewayne Atchison, Cody, Kyle and Newt Swafford, his nieces: Dianne Hall and husband Robert, Tiffany Rowan and husband Eric, Emily Luethje and husband David, Katelynn Atchison and fiancé' Jesse Stricklen, Maci Atchison.

He also leaves behind numerous cousins, other relatives and friends.

Danny was a loving son, brother, grandfather and friend that will be greatly missed.
