Howard Mullin

Howard Lee Mullin was born July 28th, 1946 in the Clear Fork community, Westville, Oklahoma.

Howard was the youngest of the 11 children born to Gerald and Millie Sisk Mullin.

When Howard was two, he and his family moved to California. Around the age of 16 they moved back to Westville.  He attended high school there where he lettered in track, football, basketball and graduated.

After High school, Howard attended Northeastern State University where he received his Bachelor's Degree and eventually went on to receive his Masters in Administration.

In 1965, Howard married Joyce Stevens and had three daughters, Becki, Beth and Darita. They moved to Coweta, OK in 1969 where he became a beloved coach, teacher of history and driver's ed for many years. He later worked as an administrator in the Transportation Department at Broken Arrow Public Schools.

In 1983, Howard married Diana Haines and gained another daughter, Shannon. Howard and Diana were married for 36 years.

The simplest pleasures in life brought great joy to Howard. He loved hunting, fishing and most of all, his family. He was a member of Clear Fork Church, where he spent countless hours taking care of the church as it was near and dear to his heart.

Howard left this earth on February 15th, 2023 at the family home place, which was also his happy place.

Howard was preceded in death by his parents, Gerald and Millie Mullin, sisters Fauntreba, Charlene, Geraldine, Maxine and Glendoline, brothers James and Bert, and his wife, Diana Mullin.

He is survived by brothers Kermit and Wife Bonnie of Tahlequah, OK. Dan and wife Dianna of Watts, OK. And Ted of Tahlequah, OK.  Daughters Becki Farley and husband, Butch, of Jay, OK. Beth Washington and husband, Steve, of Okmulgee, OK. Darita Poplin and husband, Jason, of Coweta, OK. Shannon Peterson of Broken Arrow, OK. Eleven grandchildren, Zalin Edwards and girlfriend, Miranda Stiles, Whitney Scroggins and husband, Ben, Kaylee Johnson, Alexis Farley, Garrett Washington, Aidan DeGiacomo, Aubree Poplin, Hunter Farley, Millie Washington, Penley and Piper Peterson. Two great-grandchildren, Harlan Edwards and Olivia Scroggins.  along with countless cousins, nieces and nephews.

Those who loved him will miss him dearly, but are grateful for the hope in Christ that they will see him again. This is not goodbye, but see you later. Until then, you will be missed every single day.
