Noretta Mullin

Noretta “Jo” James Mullin was born April 29, 1928 in Lockney, TX to Thelma (Wolfe) James and Thomas Floyd James.  She was raised in Proctor OK, in the home of her maternal grandparents, Tom and Suzy Wolfe. Noretta made her way to her heavenly home on Thursday, February 16, 2023 in Stilwell OK.

She attended school in Proctor before attending and graduating from Westville High School in 1947.

She married Tommie Bert Mullin on December 26, 1947 and they were blessed with almost 73 years together.  Noretta enjoyed spending time with her family and she loved fishing and camping. She was a member of Clearfork Church.

Noretta worked as a buyer for Saks Fifth Avenue in Kansas City, worked as a secretary and bus driver at Westville School along with several other jobs over her lifetime.  Possibly her greatest joy was being a wife, mother, homemaker and caregiver.

Noretta was preceded in death by her husband of 72 years, Bert Mullin, her parents, Thomas James and Thelma Taylor, her daughter, Pamela Kay Mullin and an infant grandson.

She leaves a loving family to mourn her passing.  They include her sister, Eldee Beams of Tulsa, children: Tommie R. Mullin of Proctor, Staci Heustis and husband Terry of Westville, 8 grandchildren: Jason Owens and wife Cassy, Shawn Owens and wife Carrie, Shannon Mullin and wife Stacy, Keleka Adams, Amanda Ralph, Lenzi Arnold and husband Colton, Tyler Davidson and wife Natali and Felicia Manning. 5 great grandchildren, 4 great-great grandchildren, many nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
