Patsy Ann Allison was born November 24, 1929, in Tahlequah, Oklahoma to Otis Fuller and Helen Denton and went to be with Jesus on August 21, 2022, in West Siloam Springs, Oklahoma, at the age of 92 years, 8 months, and 27 days.
She attended Tahlequah Schools where she graduated salutatorian in 1948. She then received both her bachelors and masters degree from Northeastern State Teachers College, majoring in English, Speech, and Drama, graduating with honors.
She moved to Westville, Oklahoma with her mother and her infant daughter Barney Susan shortly after receiving her teaching certificate in 1953, where she began a 31 year career in education at Westville Public Schools. While there, she taught English I, II, III, and IV, Business English, and Speech. For several years, she was the Administrative Assistant to the Superintendent but later in her career returned to the classroom.
At Westville, she directed the annual junior play and was known for her elaborate productions, including several musicals. She also started and directed what is now considered a major highlight of the school year at Westville, the annual Veterans Day program presented by the speech class.
On July 23, 1954, she married Billy Ray Allison of Westville in Greenville, Mississippi. Their son Bill, Jr., was born April 12, 1957. They were married 51 years until Billy Ray passed away in 2005.
Patsy was a member of the First Baptist Church of Westville from the time she moved from Tahlequah and taught Sunday School there for many years.
She is preceded in death by her parents, her husband Billy Ray, her brother David Maxwell, her daughter Barney Susan Brixey, and a grandson, Eric David Brixey. She is survived by her son Bill and wife Dottie of Conroe, Texas, her grandson Will and wife Ally of Denver, Colorado, her great-grandson Oliver Fox Allison of Denver, Colorado, other family and friends, and many students both at school and at church who were greatly impacted by her life.
She was interred at Tahlequah City Cemetery under the direction of Roberts & Hart Funeral Home. There will be a memorial service to honor Patsy on September 18, 2022, at 3:00 p.m. at the First Baptist Church in Westville.
In lieu of flowers donations may be made to the Allison Family Scholorship Fund at Westville Public Schools or to the First Baptist Church of Westville.
